Purpose of this policy
We are committed to complying with our legal obligations in respect of data protection and privacy.
We process personal data relating to our audience, funders and all those who are interested in the work we do. We also process data relating to all the people who work with us including creatives, producers, venues, technicians etc.
Kestrel Morton is an independent artist who also creates work as an ensemble with The Ragged Storytelling Collective. In the policy we will use the references 'we', 'us' or 'our' in this Privacy Statement. We are funded through grants from Arts Council Wales and sometimes along with other funding bodies, trusts and foundations.

What personal data do we collect from you?
Personal data is any information relating to an identifiable living individual. For audiences and people who may work with us, we only collect the personal data we need to be able to provide you with information about our performances, events and work opportunities you have asked us tell you about.

When do we collect personal data?
We will collect information about you when you enter into a contract with us, make enquiries about work and performances, visit our website, sign up to our newsletter, and engage with us on social media.
Information from third parties
We occasionally receive information about you from other sources. For example, as we are a touring artist/company we may receive your personal information when you book tickets through venues where we are performing. We will always contact you to let you know if we have been given your information from a third party to verifiy that you are consenting to hear from us, and we will always tell you how to access this policy so you know how we will use your data.
Sensitive Personal Information
Data Protection law recognises that certain categories of personal information are more sensitive such as health information, race, religious beliefs and political opinions. We do not usually collect this type of information about our subscribers unless there is a clear reason for doing so. (As an example, we may collect health information about participants in a workshop or information about special interests to disseminate targeted communications).

How will we use your personal data?

In some circumstances, we may need to share your personal data with other third parties (including legal or other advisers, regulatory authorities, courts and government agencies) to enable us to enforce our legal rights, or where such disclosure may be permitted or required by law.
Unless we tell you otherwise, and save for data contained within our email marketing provider Mailchimp (which is based in Georgia, USA and is compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework), your data will not be processed outside the EEA.
We will never sell your data.
How long do we keep your data?
If you sign up to our e mail marketing list, we will keep your personal data for up to 5 years and will contact you to ask if you want to update your preferences. You can also opt out of this list at any time.
If you work for us a freelance creative, technician, administrator or in any other capacity, we will keep your details on file so that we can contact you easily should relevant work opportunities come up which may interest you. In other circumstances, we will only keep personal data for as long as we reasonably need to keep the information for lawful business purposes or to comply with a statutory or other legal requirement.
Data security
We will take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data we transmit, store or otherwise process against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration or unauthorised disclosure or access. Our computers and mobile devices are password protected and online security software to protect documents with personal information.
